The Artwork of Rino Li Causi

Rino Li Causi was born in Marsala, Sicily in 1943. He moved to Rome in 1960 and began his artistic career there and in Florence under the influence of friends who were already established artists. In 1969 he moved to New York City where his own original artistic style emerged. By mixing acrylic and sand in brightly colored staccato strokes, Li Causi achieves a luminosity and depth of feeling that mesmerizes the viewer.

Li Causi's paintings have been exhibited throughout the world including one man shows in Tokyo, Florence, Rome, New York and Nice, France where his work has been acquired by the Renoir Museum.

His canvases act as windows into an age of innocence gone by. They show dense butterfly populated meadows of wildflowers, sun splashed beaches and cottages nestled in shaded groves, women strolling with parasols and children playing in sun bonnets. They invite you into their dream world of a turn of the century Paradise Lost.
